“Verily Allah has 99 Names, 1 less than a 100, Whosoever Preserves them shall enter Paradise”
– Tirmidhi

The Glorious Names of Allah

This piece is based on the Breath of the Compassionate design with a Name of Allah on each of the 8 pointed stars.
This was inspired by the above hadith and focused around the 16 names mentioned in the last 3 verses of Surah Hashr (Chapter 59)

The Calligraphy was first carved into plaster moulds to allow the tiles to have a raised finish when complete.

The colour scheme for this was also inspired by various Ahaadith in which Paradise has been described with a lush green colour that will bring comfort to the eyes.

This piece was first created in 2016 as part of the Degree show at the Princes School of Traditional Arts and purchased by the Al Bukhary Foundation for the Museum of Islamic Arts in Malaysia.
A Second Private Commission was also created later that year.

Commissions are available for this piece in similar or different colours but with the same dimensions
